When to Relocate

When Is Tree Relocation the Right Choice?

Tree relocation makes sense when you have a healthy, established tree that you want to preserve rather than remove.

Common situations where relocation is the right call:

  • Construction or renovation — protecting a valued tree during property changes
  • Landscape redesign — repositioning a tree to improve layout, sight lines, or sun exposure
  • Property development — relocating mature trees to save them during site work
  • Personal attachment — moving a heritage or sentimental tree to a new home or property

Not every tree is a good candidate for relocation. Factors like species, age, root health, size, and destination soil conditions all affect viability. That’s why every relocation project starts with an on-site assessment before we provide a proposal or pricing.

How Does the Tree Relocation Process Work?

Step 1: Contact Us

Fill out the form below or call (210) 202-4284. Our team will confirm a date and time for a site visit to examine the tree and assess relocation feasibility.

Step 2: Site Check + Assessment

We visit the tree's current location to evaluate its health, root structure, size, and access conditions. We also assess the destination site for soil suitability, space, and planting conditions. After the visit, we provide an honest assessment of whether relocation is viable and what it will take.

Step 3: Proposal & Deposit

We provide a detailed proposal with pricing based on the site visit. A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to schedule the service. We accept cash, check, or card (2.5% convenience fee applies to cards). The remaining balance is due before the crew leaves the job site.

Step 4: Scheduling & pre-Service Package

We coordinate a service date that works for your schedule (homeowner sign-off required for property access). 5-10 days before the service, you'll receive a QuickSign Package for electronic signature covering the invoice, guarantee policy, utility policy, and aftercare recommendations. The day before, you'll receive the crew's target arrival time.

Step 5: Relocation Day

Our crew extracts the tree with a properly sized root ball, transports it to the destination, and re-plants it using the same professional technique we use for all installations – proper depth, soil backfill, staking, and initial watering.
