In 1977, Erasmo and Herminia Alfaro established Alfaro Tree Sales on a lot in Atascosa, Texas. From the very beginning, they set out to build something rooted in family — work they could be proud of, grown with care, and carried forward for generations. Their goal was simple: create a family business that could last, just like the trees they grew.
That foundation of family craftsmanship and honest service has carried the business through nearly five decades. Today, the next generation continues the Alfaro legacy, managing a 40-acre nursery with one of the largest inventories of mature, field-grown trees in the San Antonio region.
As we approach our 50th anniversary, the core principles haven’t changed. We still hand-select every tree we sell. We still plant every tree ourselves — no subcontractors, no corner-cutting. And we still believe that doing things the right way is what makes a business last.
This milestone is rooted in family, craftsmanship, and generations of growth. It reflects thousands of successful plantings, an unwavering commitment to quality, and a deep understanding of which trees thrive in South Texas and how to give them the best possible start.
Our roots run deep in South Texas, literally and figuratively.
